Tram will go before EURO

As the environmental decision has already been issued, the designer – MP Mosty company from Cracow will be able to finish design works of the tram route to Tarchomin. The documentation should be ready in September. Then, the designer will start the application procedure to get the permission for the project implementation, which is issued by the Architecture and City Planning Department of the capital city of Warsaw.
The procedure includes making arrangements in Zakład Uzgadniania Dokumentacji Projektowej (unit arranging design documentation), with the city traffic engineer and with the disposers of territorial development network. ZTM cooperates with the investment contractor – the company Tramwaje Warszawskie. The designer has time to December 20 this year to obtain a legally valid building permit.
After getting a legally valid building permit, Tramwaje Warszawskie can put a contract out to tender and select the company which will build the route. The tender procedure should take about two months. It means that construction works will start in spring next year, which allows to expect that construction of the route to the terminus at ul. Mehoffera will have been finished by the end of 2011. Two years later the whole line to the Winnica terminus will have been ready.
In the first stage of investment implementation the tram line on the right (east) side of the existing roadway of ul. Światowida as well as ul. Projektowa between Trasa Mostu Północnego and ul. Światowida will be built. The project includes building and redevelopment of all crossroads taking into consideration the second stage of works.
The second, target stage of investment includes building the second roadway of ul. Światowida between crossroads redeveloped in the first stage, together with sidewalks and bicycle lanes.
The possibility of going by tram in Białołęka in 1.5 year may be obstructed by protests against the environmental decision. A group of protesting people insists on an alternative project of the route at Winnica. This project could not be taken into consideration because of objective factors.
