Tram tourist line “T”
Travelling by the line T is a great idea for a holiday weekend. Historical trams ensure access to many sites of Warsaw you can spend your time in using the appealing offer.
During the summer holiday season, historic trams from the 1940s and 1950s operate on the line T. Waiting at the stop, you can expect the arrival of, among others, the so-called “Berlinki” (Berliners). These carriages, designed especially for Warsaw, were exported to Berlin during World War II. After the end of the war, they were recovered and brought back to Poland’s capital. On the route, you may also spot the N-generation trams. The oldest one served the line 30, which was launched at the opening of the Trasa W-Z (W-Z Route, i.e. East-West Route) in 1949.
Passengers can see many buildings important for the history of Warsaw and Poland, as well as the city panorama from two bridges. the Central Railway Station, the Rotunda building, the National Museum, the National Stadium, the Old Town and the Marszałkowska Residential District (MDM) are just a few of the places that will be passed by during the journey.

Attention! Selected courses operate on the extended route to or from the BANACHA terminus.
Timetable
The route operates on Saturdays, Sundays from 22 of June to 1 of September, and additionally on 16 of August.

Fares
The standard Warsaw ticket tariff is valid on the tourist line T.
In the carriages, passengers will find conductors from the Association of Public Transport Fans. Their role is to operate the carrige and to assist in the validation of single-use tickets in traditional “validators”. Please validate short- and long-term tickets coded on the Warsaw City Card in advance in another vehicle or at the metro gate.

Tram exchange with Krakow
This year, you have also an opportunity to ride a GT6 tram rented from Kraków. This type of articulated wagons transported residents of the capital of Małopolska in the years 1995-2012, and previously they ran around Nuremberg.
In turn, the 13N tram no. 503 came “for the holidays” to Krakow. On selected Sundays it can be found in service of the Krakow Museum Lines.
Historical note
The historical line T first started in 1996 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Warsaw as the capital of Poland. The trams started at Narutowicza square, reached Praga over Poniatowskiego bridge and returned to Ochota over Śląsko-Dąbrowski bridge, and next along Marszałkowska and Filtrowa streets.
However, the beginnings were not successful. There was a short circuit in the historical tram electrical system right before it entered a bridge. It could not go any further. It was connected to the line no. 22 train and pushed to Wiatraczna loop. Finally, the carriage dating back to 1908 was replaced by a younger one.
Since then, every year the historic trams of the line T travel through Warsaw, carries tourists, enthusiasts and residents between the attractions of the city.
