Encode the “new one” before the “old one” expires
On 1 January next year new prices for all ticket types shall apply. The holders of long-term tickets should remember that they can combine a ticket under the “old” tariff with the contract from the new pricelist on one card.
The maximum of two contracts of the same kind may be encoded on one card. As a result, if after 1 January 2013 someone still has an active contract on the card, for example, 90-day ticket under the “old” tariff he/she will be able to encode on the card 90-day ticket under the new tariff without the fear of losing the “old” contract. What is important, the second contract will be activated automatically after the first one expires.
However, the second contract has to be of the same kind as the first one, otherwise the first still activated contract will be deleted from the card. If, for example, the owner of the activated 30-day ticket under the “old” tariff encodes a 90-day ticket under the “new” tariff he/she will lose the first one. Moreover, in such a situation the passenger is not entitled to cash refund for the unused part of the ticket. It is stated in paragraph 6 of the additional provisions of the public transport tariff.
Therefore, the passengers should regularly check the expiration date of their tickets and remember the type of ticket they use. they would avoid unpleasant surprises.
On 19 October we will inform you how much the price of the Senior Pass will increase and till when you will be able to use the tickets encoded before the new tariff enters into force.
