The organization of public transport in time of the closure of suburban cross-city railway line.
Because of the works conducted by Polskie Linie Kolejowe between 29.06 – 01.09 this year, the suburban cross-city railway line will be closed on the Warszawa Zachodnia – Warszawa Wschodnia section.
Railway traffic scheme
Only alternating traffic on the Warszawa Zachodnia – Warszawa Śródmieście section will be admitted.
In time of the exclusion, trains will run generally on long-haul tracks. Most of Rapid Urban Railway trains and Koleje Mazowieckie trains will reach only Dworzec Zachodni and Dworzec Wschodni. Only selected KM trains (including trains of the airport KML line) as well as SKM trains S3 line will run through Dworzec Centralny.
Changes in running of SKM trains
S1line will be divided into three lines:
S1 – running on the Warszawa Śródmieście – Warszawa Ursus section,
S10 – running on the Warszawa Wschodnia – Otwock section and
S11 – running supplementary on the Warszawa Zachodnia – Pruszków section.
S2 line will be divided into two lines:
S2 – running between Lotnisko Chopina and Dworzec Śródmieście (including 2 runs reduced to the Warszawa Śródmieście Warszawa Zachodnia section only) and
S20 – running on the Warszawa Wschodnia – Sulejówek Miłosna section (During the two first weekends in July – 6-7.07 and 13-14.07 – because of additional track works on the Warszawa Rembertów – Sulejówek Miłosna section, during which one track will be closed, trains S20 line will run only on the Warszawa Wschodnia – Warszawa Rembertów section. The other section will be served by Koleje Mazowiecke trains).
S1 and S2 lines will function as shuttle service between Dworzec Zachodni and Dworzec Śródmieście. Each of these lines will run on separate track (S1 on southern track, S2 on northern track) approximately every 30-40 minutes.
Substitute tram transport
Train passengers will be able to use regular tram lines the routes of which overlap suburban cross-city railway line i.e.: 7, 8, 9, 22 and 24.
To boost tram communication between Dworzec Wschodni and pl. Zawiszy, two new tram lines will be launched: 45 and 77.
Line 77 will run on the following route: BANACHA – Grójecka – Al. Jerozolimskie – al. Zieleniecka – Kijowska – DWORZEC WSCHODNI. Trams will drive to stops every 10 minutes between rush hours, every 15 minutes beside rush hours and on Saturdays, and every 20 minutes on public holidays.
Line 45 in addition will enhance communication on al. Jerozolimskie route, but only at weekdays between rush hours. It will run every 10 minutes on the following route: WIATRACZNA – Al. Jerozolimskie – Grójecka – PL. NARUTOWICZA.

Running of the 25 line will be suspended.
Substitute bus transport
Passengers, as in the case of trams, will have many regular bus lines at their disposal, which run along the suburban cross-city railway line: 117, 127, 128, 158, 175, 517 and 521.
New line 313 will be launched, which provide the passengers, between rush hours on weekdays, with access to downtown Warsaw from Dworzec Wschodni. The buses will depart from the terminus from the side of Lubelska street. This line will run every 10 minutes on the following route: DW. WSCHODNI (Lubelska) – Skaryszewska – Targowa – Kłopotowskiego – Jagiellońska – al. Solidarności – – Marszałkowska – pl. Konstytucji – Waryńskiego – METRO POLITECHNIKA.
The route of the substitute line ZS1 will also be changed. Its new route will go through the streets: PKP PRUSZKÓW – Sienkiewicza – Powstańców – al. Wojska Polskiego – Bohaterów Warszawy – Warszawska – Keniga – Wojciechowskiego – Traktorzystów – URSUS-RATUSZ. Thanks to this passengers form Pruszków and Piastów will get to SKM train S1 line.
Honoring the tickets
– All rules connected with honoring tickets which are in force in time of construction of the stop Warszawa Ursus Niedźwiadek on the Warszawa – Skierniewice line are maintained.
– ZTM and KM tickets will be honored in PKP IC trains and Przewozy Regionalne trains on the Warszawa Zachodnia – Warszawa Wschodnia section.
– ZTM tickets will be honored in KM trains running between stations Warszawa Zachodnia – Warszawa Wschodnia p. Warszawa Centralna.
– KM tickets will be honored in SKM shuttle trains between Warszawa Zachodnia and Warszawa Śródmieście, as well as in public transport the routes of which will overlap the suburban cross-city railway line on the Warszawa Wschodnia – Warszawa Zachodnia section.
– On 6-7.07 and 13-14.07, because of additional track works on the Warszawa Rembertów – Warszawa Sulejówek Miłosna section, ZTM tickets will be honored, on the Warszawa – Sulejówek Miłosna section, in KM trains serving the Siedlce line.
