End of the Joint Ticket on Wołomińska line
From the beginning of July, the citizens of Ząbki, Zielonka, Kobyłka and Wołomin will not be able to use the standard ZTM ticket on the trains of Koleje Mazowieckie. The poviat authorities informed about the withdrawal of the local government from further cooperation in the field of transport facilities co-financing.
For most residents of the poviat, this change means the increase in the costs of daily commuting to work or school. Instead of one ZTM ticket valid in both zones, they will have to buy the ticket of Koleje Mazowieckie to the stop at Warszawa Zacisze-Wilno and a ZTM ticket valid only in the first zone.
According to the local government in the Wołomińska line, ZTM and Warsaw have too high financial expectations in terms of co-financing the Joint Ticket. In fact, the increase in their participation in the financing of the offer results primarily from the need to unify the co-financing rules to the Joint Ticket valid in the agglomeration by ZTM. This solution has been communicated to the local government for a long time. At present, however, when the Warsaw public transport has found itself in a difficult situation due to the cutbacks in the city budget concerning expenses for its operation, the unification of these rules (40% contribution to the costs in a given commune assuming the rate PLN 22.90 per train km) has become a necessity .
At the same time, the Wołomin authorities have turned to the mayor of Warsaw for advice in the creation of special tariff offer for local residents. The issue will be discussed in near future.
