In ticket machine, not from driver
Ticket machines have already appeared in two Warsaw buses. They are popular with passengers. There will be more buses with ticket machines in the streets soon.
Devices have appeared in buses operating within the line 175. They are two Solaris Urbino 18 owned by Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe (vehicle fleet numbers: 8846 and 8130). They were installed by the Mint of Poland which signed the contract with the carrier.
In buses you can buy: 20-, 40-, 60-, and 90-minute tickets as well as single fare tickets, 1-, 3-, and 7-day tickets. The machines are very popular with passengers. Within several days the devices have “sold” 220 tickets (mostly single fare normal tickets).
There will be more and more buses equipped with ticket machines in Warsaw. According to the contract between MZA and the Mint, about 20 such devices altogether will be installed. All of them will be placed in Solaris buses which have already been in use in Warsaw. Apart from that, next Tuesday (September, 8) the carrier will put the purchase of 16 brand new 9.5 – 10.5 meter long buses out to tender. Ticket machines will also be installed in these buses.
Moreover, at the beginning of October the first buses owned by Mobilis, which won a tender announced by ZTM this year, will appear in the streets of Warsaw. Ticket machines will also be available in them.
