Can I have the red one with a white strip
From 1 January 2013, all ticket prices shall change but the ticket designs will remain unchanged. Only small, “cosmetic” changes will be introduced.
The ticket designs introduced in August 2011 shall still apply. Warsaw Public Transport passengers accepted them and got used to them. Let us remember– each ticket type is of a different color which helps its identification. For instance, a single-fare ticket valid only in the first zone is red, time-limit tickets are green (different hues), 1 day travel card– blue, 3-day travel card – purple.
There are also no problems connected with the recognition of full price tickets and reduced fare ones at first glance. Full price tickets are plain-colored cards. Reduced fare tickets have a small, white strip on the left side.
It is worth underlining that there is also information in English on paper tickets. In the old tariff, only information concerning the ticket type is in English. In the new one, there will be also information concerning the zone in which the ticket is valid. The second modification will be the addition of the inscription “m.st. Warszawa” (in English: the capital city of Warsaw) next to “Zarząd Transportu Miejskiego” (in English: Public Transport Authority) on a very narrow strip at the top and at the bottom of the ticket.
It is worth paying attention to the ticket designs that will be sold via ticket vending machines. Instead of colorful tickets, there will be grey ones with narrow red strip at the bottom and the ZTM logotype at the top. The designs of the vehicle-and-fare tickets will also remain unchanged. Those ticket will be still in the form a “receipt” with the printed QR code.
