Holidays without Świętokrzyska and Centrum metro stations
Starting from 29 January this year, according to the motion submitted by the contractor responsible for building the central section of the second line of metro, Świętokrzyska and Centrum metro stations will not be functioning as a part of the metro line. These stations will not be available for passengers for the entire summer holidays season. The metro will operate only on certain sections: KABATY-POLITECHNIKA and MŁOCINY- RATUSZ ARSENAŁ. Public Transport Authority will provide passengers with another form of substitute transport.
Having experienced similar situations before, Public Transport Authority will launch extra tram lines number 75 and 74 plus bus line number Z-1.
75 – METRO MARYMONT– Słowackiego – Mickiewicza – Andersa – Marszałkowska – Nowowiejska – Filtrowa – PL. NARUTOWICZA
Line 75 – operates on the weekdays in the morning and in the afternoon hours. It will be operating with the frequency similar to that of the metro, namely every 4 minutes. Between the rush hours trams will operate every 5 minutes. On Saturdays and national holidays trams will appear on the stops every 8 minutes. The line will operate every 10 minutes in the morning and in the evening during the whole week. Additionally, the operating hours of the line number 75 will be prolonged in the Friday-Saturday and Saturday-Sunday night until approximately 3 a.m.
74 – ŻERAŃ WSCHODNI – Odrowąża – Starzyńskiego – Słomińskiego – Międzyparkowa – Andersa – Marszałkowska – Nowowiejska – Jana Pawła II – Popiełuszki – METRO MARYMONT
Note! The tram line 74 will end its route on PIASKI terminus because of tram line repairs on Popiełuszki street at the 29-30 June weekend. The line will take the following route: ŻERAŃ WSCHODNI – Odrowąża – Starzyńskiego – Słomińskiego – Międzyparkowa – Andersa – Marszałkowska – Nowowiejska – Jana Pawła II – Broniewskiego – PIASKI.
The tram line number 74 will provide convenient connection to those who decide to use tram communication running through al. Jana Pawła II for the time when the ŚWIĘTOKRZYSKA and CENTRUM metro stations are closed. On the weekdays and during rush hours these line will be operating every 10 minutes, and every 15 minutes during remaining hours, on Saturdays and national holidays. In the morning and in the evening, the line will be operating approximately every 20 minutes for the whole week.
Substitution line Z-1 will be launched on the following route: METRO MARYMONT – Włościańska – Słowackiego – Mickiewicza – Andersa – Marszałkowska – Waryńskiego – METRO POLITECHNIKA.
Stops: PL. WILSONA, DW. GDAŃSKI, METRO RATUSZ ARSENAŁ, PL. BANKOWY, KRÓLEWSKA, METRO ŚWIĘTOKRZYSKA, CENTRUM i PL. KONSTYTUCJI.
On the weekdays and during rush hours, the buses will come to bus stops every 5 minutes, and every 8 minutes during remaining hours, on Saturdays and national holidays. In the morning and in the evening, the line will be operating approximately every 10 minutes for the whole week.
Additionally, the bus routes number 226, 527, 718, 738 and 805 that normally end their rides at the Plac Bankowy, will be extended to the City Center from Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.
Passengers can use line 313 that will be launched for the summer holidays season. Buses of this line will be operating on the weekdays and during rush hours on the following route: DW. WSCHODNI (Lubelska) – Skaryszewska – Targowa – Kłopotowskiego – Jagiellońska – al. Solidarności – – Marszałkowska – pl. Konstytucji – Waryńskiego – METRO POLITECHNIKA.
In connection with the shutdown of the two metro stations that will take place on 1 July, two Passenger Service Centers will be temporarily closed. Those are: Świętokrzyska and Centrum II. PSC Świętokrzyska will be closed until the end of August. PSC Centrum II will be closed until 18 August this year. However, passengers may still use PSC Centrum I all the time.
